Oh foggy Norway, how I miss thee! |
I sure don't look like I enjoy wearing this skirt, but in fact I do :) It makes me feel very adult and businessladylike. I think it turned out pretty well. There's a slit in the back as well, I couldn't walk without it. I also like the V shape of the waistband. I am not sure about the length though, shouldn't it reach just above the knee? And I also think it would be best to make a pencil skirt in a fabric with a little bit of stretch. There's a bit of horizontal wrinkling going on at the front that might get worse should I actually wear it.
So, what do you think? Better than the crazy maxi skirt? Or would you rather wear that one? I have to say, when I see it from a distance like this, it doesn't look all that crazy. What do you think? Enlighten me you fashionista readers! :)

Oh - i LOVE that pencil skirt! So beutiful :) And it fits you so good.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is tight :) We'll see how tight when I wear it out this weekend!
Deletei'm not a fashionista, but with your tiny waist and long legs you should definitely wear the pencil skirt version :) it looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteThe maxi version is a bit to 70'ies for my taste these days. But in my late teens that was all i wanted. ( I'm 32)
If you still have one, you know what to do now! :)
DeleteI definitely prefer the pencil skirt. The length is lovely, and it's beautiful paired with the white blouse.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the confirmation!
Deletei love me a crazy maxi skirt, but I have to say that v waistband is killer. love the reincarnation! did you use a pattern?
ReplyDeleteNo pattern! Just sort of draped and fitted while wearing it. But a pattern might have helped with the horizontal wrinkling.
DeleteI'm not such a fan of the original maxi, but LOVE the pencil skirt. Wonderful job.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I already feel more secure about it :)
DeleteLove it. It looks great with that shirt, you should totally wear it out. And to work. It'll inspire others to lift their own game!
ReplyDeleteGood point! Except that I also do a lot of dirty physical work (I work with algae). But I should wear it out more, get more comfortable with it.
DeleteI like the refashion -- its a great fabric, but the long version was a bit much.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree!
DeleteThat is gorgeous, and you have the perfect figure for a pencil skirt---I'm absolutely jealous. That being said, for me and my casual lifestyle, I would probably have gotten more wear out of the maxi version. I can't speak for yours, of course.
ReplyDeleteIs there enough fabric left to make a little jacket (maybe with short sleeves) or vest to match? That would be adorable. Although probably even more needlessly businessladylike. Which is my new favourite word. It's adorable. :)
That's what I like about the pencil skirt, thats it shows of my figure. At the same time I'd rather have people not paying too much attention to it.
DeleteI'd never wear the maxi. The fabric seems like a sort of stiff quilting cotton, it wasn't really comfortable. There could be enough for a little jacket and I like the idea, but the chances of me wearing this as a suit are even slimmer :)
Really sweet! I think I would wear it with just a simple thight black top and slippers or something to make it a bit less business like :) But like it with your white blouse as well!
ReplyDeleteThanks, maybe I'll try that! I should either dress it down a bit or get more comfortable with this look, haven't decided yet :)
